On Easter Sunday, my grandpa went home to be with the Lord. His favorite day of the whole year, He got to meet Jesus face to face and worship him that day! What an amazing way to go.
Thursday, we traveled out to Iowa for the funeral. Almost 50 people just from the family were there to celebrate his life along with hundreds from his church. It was a bittersweet reunion with all our cousins and aunts and uncles. What an impact Grandpa had on all of our lives. Even though it was a sad time to say goodbye to someone we all loved so dearly, there is such joy in knowing he is with his Savior and his dear wife, my grandma. He has looked forward to this day his whole life. He couldn’t want to meet Jesus.
My grandpa lived to be 87 years of age and he served the Lord his whole life. He was in ministry for over 65 years and was married to my grandma for 60 years before she went to be with the Lord. Their marriage was something everyone in the family looked up too. He loved grandma deeply and it never went unnoticed. They had 5 wonderful kids, one of them being my amazing mom. I am so so thankful for the way they raised their kids because their kids have impacted all of us kids to be like Christ. The legacy my grandpa leaves behind is incredible. He will not go forgotten. He impacted life after life. He loved his family and he loved seeing people come to know the Lord. He lived his whole life sold out to Christ. I think everyone in the family would agree and anyone who knew my Grandpa that he was a glimpse of who Jesus is. He showed us what a life dedicated to Christ looks like. I will forever be grateful to him as my grandpa. We will miss him so much but we will always be reminded of him and how he impacted this family. He had 5 wonderful children, 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren + all the married in family. Seeing all the family gather to honor him was amazing. It was so incredible remembering the life he lived and how he changed and impacted each of us. We will miss our prayer warrior. We love you grandpa! Thank you for living a life sold out to Christ!
