It is crazy to think that two weeks ago today we closed on our new house!! We have been hard at work when we are home and able too over the last two weeks. We have done a lot and I am getting so so excited to see it all come together. This post is what we had done the 1st week we owned it. We new there was original hardwood floors under all the carpet, so we took up all the carpet (don’t worry we saved) and cleaned the floors all up from the staples and nail strips. Once we are closer to being “done” we will sand and restain the original floors. We also new there were chimney’s in the basement we could see. From it being over a 100 years old, they use to heat the house from a wood burner in the basement. Pretty crazy to think about that. We love bring the old back to life, so Trev got to work fast to expose the one chimney in the kitchen and to take the wall out so we have a more open concept into the kitchen from the dining area. We will put in a little peninsula island there for people to sit up at like a bar. We are excited for what we got done in the little time we have owned it.
This week we are working on getting the kitchen floor up – 100 year old linoleum- yuck. Also getting the kitchen cabinets out and possibly opening another wall up in the living room!!
Here is a few updated photos. We still have more happening around here so stay tuned for next time!
